This time the copay was $10.00 -
BOB gave the twenty-something female clerk a twenty-dollar bill.
The twenty-something female clerk said - "Do you have a ten?"
BOB said -
"Sweetie, if I had a ten - I would have given you a ten. All I have is a twenty."
The twenty-something female clerk said -
"I don't have change for a twenty. I'll be right back."
And then she left and went across the way to another office to get change.
While she was gone -
BOB thought -
- You don't have change for a twenty?
- Let's see - most doctor visits require copays.
- And most copays are ten dollars.
- What happened to all of the copays that you got from all of the other people sitting out here in the waiting room?
- Where are they?
- Did the people "charge" them - or use a "debit" card?
- You didn't tell me that I could "charge" it - or use a "debit" card.
- I gave you cash and you don't have change?
- Good grief!
After a while - the twenty-something female clerk came back.
And gave BOB her change for a twenty -
ONE five -
THREE ones -
and EIGHT quarters
It was probably all those quarters that took so long to find, huh?
But then again - it's probably just me.
